OUR STORY
Longs Peak United Methodist Church began as the United Brethren Church of Longmont with 21 charter members on April 9, 1911 under the guidance of the church's first pastor, Rev. J. N. Hanes

The United Brethren Church of Longmont met in a rented building at 834 Main St. until their church building at 7th and Coffman was completed and dedicated in January 1912.
In 1946, the United Brethren Church merged with the Evangelical Church and became known as the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
The Longmont EUB Church grew in the early post-war years and the building was remodeled and expanded to accomodate its growth.

United Methodist Merger 1968
In 1968, the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged with the Methodist Church to become The United Methodist Church. And the Longmont EUB Church changed name to Longs Peak United Methodist Church.
The congregation decided to move because their building was too close to First UMC. They met temporarily at Longmont Estates School for two years during construction of their new church building at 1421 Elmhurst Dr. The land was donated by the Hover Board in exchange for meeting space for the residents of Hover Manor.
